I watched the Blackhawks play the Oilers tonight. The second period featured an 18 minute power-play for Chicago – or that’s what it felt like I was watching. The Oilers and Edmonton fans have had everything go wrong for them this season, and it looked to me like, to a man, they’ve given up. I don’t blame them.
Everybody has an opinion. Horcoff’s a convenient lightning rod. 5.5 million dollars a year for a player who’s plus-minus is colder than Edmonton winter temperatures?
But Sheldon Souray has also had a lacklustre year. Despite that, and his 5+ million dollar cap hit, there are several clubs out there who should be interested in his services. He has agreed to waive his no-trade clause for a select group of teams. Speculation is that he would want to be close to his Los Angeles-based kids, and certainly he would want to play on a playoff-bound team.
The LA Kings are obvious candidates. Colorado has a great young team. San Jose is a perennial contender. Anaheim has several big holes to fill on defence. Vancouver has injury problems on defence. Where do you think he’ll end up?

I would love to see him in LA playing with Smyth, Stoll, and Greene (other former Oilers) as well as with Kopitar and Frolov! I think he would be a great acquisition to the team!

They all gave up about 10 games ago, for a leader as Souray is suppose to be; to publicly waive his no trade and then publicly state he has given that so said list………………..he has given up.
Horcoff is a loser and always has been……..he had ONE good year and CASHED in, he was never good and never will be, but he conned LOWE.
Khabby was a bust as all Oilers fans know and knew.
Kevin Lowe SCREWED this team, with big/overpayed contracts………….Horcoff, Souray, Penner, Grebs,Gilbert,Hemsky, Morneau
Thie team should have been focused around Gags, Cogs, and a new upstart goalie that they failed to secure.
Imagine Gags, Cogs, Eberle, Svennson, Chorney, Brule,and a goalie like Halak

come on guys lowe messed up big time he should have pulled the trigger last summer got rid of some of them goofs now they are paying the price. its not just souray at least 6 of them should be gone

The Oilers have been in rebuild mode since trading Smyth…the problem is, management didnt realize it and have been using band-aid solutions to try to return to elite status…Souray is NOT Prongs, therefore he did NOT deserve Prongs $$…Horcoff, must have pics of Lowe humping sheep to get the $$ he did. They did NOT mix their draft choices properly. How many teams in this league have 6 players under 6′ in their line-up? And finally, 30th place team with a top 10 salary cap…our previous GM Lowe blowed this team.

I think Souray would be a great fit in Colorado, if not, LA would be a good second choice.

i think souray will most likely end up in Vancouver, And as for horcoff he should end up on waivers
